Per-card fees add up quickly when you send rewards to a whole team. If you want no fee Visa gift cards for business, Giftronaut’s US and Canada Prepaid Visa cards have no activation, redemption, or monthly maintenance fees.
The Global Visa Reward Card works a little differently. It has no fee on USD purchases, but purchases in other currencies carry a 6% fee. Which card fits depends on where each recipient will spend it.
Giftronaut’s US and Canada Prepaid Visa cards carry no activation, redemption, or monthly maintenance fees. They’re delivered digitally, so there’s no shipping fee either. The Global Visa Reward Card is fee-free as long as the recipient spends in USD.

Amounts and terms can change, so check the latest on our International Visa Gift Cards page before you order.
The Grocery card works only at qualified grocery merchants, so make sure your recipients shop at one. Our Visa grocery card guide shows where it works.
Giftronaut also offers two Mastercard options. The Canada Mastercard holds CAD 1 to 1,000 and works only in Canada. Its product page doesn’t list fees or validity, so check both before you send.
The Swype Global Mastercard works online in 202 countries and holds up to USD 999. Each purchase outside the United States carries a flat $0.50 USD fee, and our Swype card guide lists its other card fees.
Visa doesn’t set one fee for every gift card, so the cost depends on who issues and sells it. Traditional Visa gift cards have purchase or activation fees at about $3 to $7 per card. You pay that on every card, so a $5 fee on 100 cards adds $500 to the order.
Purchase, activation, and shipping fees usually come at checkout. Maintenance, replacement, and foreign transaction fees can show up later, once the recipient starts using the card. So a card with no purchase fee can still cost your recipient money.
Metrolina Nephrology Associates, a healthcare organization, used to pay high transaction fees and postage for physical gift cards with earlier reward providers. After switching to Giftronaut, it reports $0 hidden costs and a 20x cost reduction across its whole reward program.
For a breakdown of each fee type, see our guide to Visa gift card fees.
For business sending, buy from a provider with no per-card activation fee, and compare its funding fees too. Every seller has to show its fees before you buy, according to the CFPB’s 2023 guide to prepaid card disclosures, so start there.
Check these six things with every seller.
If you’re open to brands other than Visa, our list of 10 no-fee gift cards for 2026 compares them.
The whole team can go out in one order, so you don’t have to buy cards one at a time. Each person can get a different amount.
Recipients get the card by email, or by text to US and Canadian +1 numbers once you turn on text delivery. For a large group, our guide to prepaid Visa cards for business walks through a bulk order.
Compare the US, Canada, and Global Visa cards, with amounts and expiry for each.
Go by where each person will spend the card. A US or Canada card works only in its own country, even when the recipient lives somewhere else.
If you’re still deciding between Visa and Mastercard, our Visa vs Mastercard gift card comparison shows which to send where.
Visa is popular when recipients choose for themselves, too. Giftronaut internal data shows that for Choice Card orders placed from January 2025 to August 2026, the Visa Virtual Reward Card took 10.7% of US selections. Only Amazon.com, at 49.4%, was picked more often.
In Canada, the Visa eReward Card led with 24.8% of selections in the same period, and a prepaid Mastercard and Amazon.ca took 10.7% each. Two of the top three are prepaid cards, which shows how popular they are with Canadian recipients.
Both charts count Giftronaut Choice Card selections for US and Canadian products, in orders placed January 2025 to August 2026. They show the top three only, so the shares don’t add to 100%.
Standard gift cards in a Choice Card carry no redemption fee. If you add PayPal or Venmo payouts, the payout fee is 4% when you cover it, or 6% when the recipient does.
Check the claim deadline and the card expiry before you send, because one follows the other. A standard Giftronaut reward expires 180 days after you send it, and an unclaimed reward can’t be redeemed after that date.
The card’s clock starts when the recipient claims the reward. That’s when the US or Canada Prepaid Visa is issued, and it expires six months later or when the balance reaches $0, whichever comes first.
Say you send a reward on March 1. The link works until August 28. If the recipient claims it on April 10, their card expires around October 10. So put the claim deadline in your message and ask people to claim early.
If you add the Refund Option to the order, the claim deadline becomes the 30, 60, or 90 days you choose.
Small balances need a heads-up too. Every purchase, including tax, shipping, and tips, has to fit within what’s left on the card. Restaurants can hold about 20% extra for a tip, so a card with only a few dollars left can decline.
The cards are for purchases. ATM withdrawals, cash back at the register, cash advances, and recurring billing are commonly not supported. Recipients should also skip the VPN when activating or paying, since it can trigger a fraud check and a decline.
Most Visa gift card fees are easy to avoid if you check before you order. Match each card to where the recipient will spend it and read its fee line. If your group is mixed, let them choose with a Choice Card, and you’re ready to send.
Recipients choose from 4,300+ brands in their own currency, including prepaid Visa cards.
