The best corporate gifting platforms for global teams depend on what you send: digital gift card platforms fit rewards and recognition, while swag and direct mail platforms fit shipped gifts and sales outreach.
Say you run people operations for a company with staff in Toronto, Manila, Berlin and Lagos. Someone in Manila just hit a five-year anniversary, and you want to send something today.
Here’s the catch. Gifts cross borders the way electrical plugs do. A US plug fits a US socket, and a gift card issued for one country works in that country. An Amazon.co.uk gift card can’t be redeemed on Amazon.com, even though the brand is the same. So the platform you pick has to solve the adapter problem for every country on your list. If you’re new to that problem, our guide to sending gift cards abroad covers the basics.
What should a corporate gifting platform do for a global team?
A global team needs a platform that puts a usable reward in each person’s hands, in their own country and currency, at a cost you can predict and with controls over who sends what. Run every shortlist through the eight checks below. The right-hand column shows how Giftronaut answers each one, so you have a worked example to hold other vendors against.
| What to check | What to ask any platform | How Giftronaut answers |
|---|---|---|
| Local reach | Does each recipient get a card issued for their own country, and what happens where there isn’t one? | Local gift cards in 71 countries. Elsewhere, recipients get a global option such as the Global Visa Reward Card, which works in 225 countries. |
| Currency | Which currency do you fund in, and which does the recipient see? | You fund in USD. Recipients redeem in their local currency, with 51 currencies available. |
| Delivery | How does the reward arrive, and does the recipient need an account or a street address? | Email, SMS (US and Canadian mobile numbers) or reward link. Recipients need no account. |
| Fees | What do you pay to fund, send and redeem? | No platform, subscription or per-card fees. ACH and wire funding are free, credit card deposits carry a 3% fee, and Payout Options carry their own redemption fee. |
| Funding | Is it prepaid or invoiced, and what is the minimum deposit? | All orders are prepaid, with a $100 minimum deposit. ACH typically takes 2 to 3 business days and wire 1, counted from the day your bank sends the payment. |
| Automation | Can it send on set dates, or from your HR, CRM or survey tools? | Smart Orders send on the dates you set. Zapier, an API with a sandbox and MCP connect your other tools. |
| Controls | Who can place orders, and can you require approval? | A Super Admin sets each user’s permissions. Orders placed through Zapier need approval by default. |
| Tax and compliance | What does it handle for recipients abroad? | W-9 collection covers US recipients and USD rewards only. Access from 12 US-sanctioned countries is blocked. |
The last row is the one teams skip. Giftronaut’s tax features don’t handle international recipients at all, so a reward paid abroad still needs a check with your finance team. In the US, gift cards given to employees are taxable wages however small, so they belong in payroll (IRS Publication 15-B, 2026). W-9 and 1099 forms concern non-employee recipients such as contractors.
Local reach deserves the most attention, and a headline number hides it. A platform can say it reaches 200 countries and still show a recipient in one of them a single card. Our own catalog is uneven too, as the chart shows: Europe has 1,544 products and Africa 174, with local gift cards in six African countries and a global Visa card covering the other 42 we reach. Ask every vendor for the same breakdown, and use our country and currency guide to see how it looks country by country.

Which kind of corporate gifting platform fits your gift?
Match the platform to what your recipients receive. Digital gift card platforms cover rewards and recognition across many countries, swag platforms handle physical items through warehouses, and gifting-plus-direct-mail platforms tie sends to your sales tools.

Digital gift card platforms are the lightest to run. Nothing ships, so there’s no customs form and no address to collect, and delivery takes as long as an email. Each card works in one country, so local depth matters.
Swag platforms fit when the object is the point, such as a welcome kit or a branded hoodie. They store inventory near recipients and ship it for you. The catch is cost and timing. Shipping, storage and customs all add up, and a box that arrives a week late misses the moment you were celebrating.
Sales gifting platforms attach gifts and direct mail to your pipeline, with sends triggered from your CRM. They’re built for revenue teams, so a recognition program for 400 employees may be more tool than you need.
How do the main corporate gifting platforms compare for a global team?
On what they send and how far they say they reach, the five platforms below split into digital-first and physical-first. Every figure is the vendor’s own public statement, checked on 26 October 2026.
| Platform | What it sends | Reach, as the vendor states it |
|---|---|---|
| Giftronaut | Digital gift cards and prepaid cards by email, SMS (US and Canadian mobile numbers) or reward link | 4,300+ brands, 225 countries |
| PerkUp | Swag, gifts and gift cards | Swag delivered to over 65 countries; gifts to 100+ countries and 5,000+ gift cards, per its pricing page |
| Sendoso | eGifts, customized swag, virtual experiences, direct mail and handwritten notes | Ships to 165+ countries |
| Giftogram | Gift cards, prepaid Visa and Mastercard cards (digital and physical) and cash payouts such as PayPal, Venmo and ACH | Says it sends worldwide; its homepage gives no country count |
| Runa (formerly WeGift) | Gift cards, prepaid cards and bank payouts through an API | Gift cards in 45 countries; bank payouts in 190+ countries |
Automation and best fit differ too:
| Platform | Automation and integrations | Best fit (our read) |
|---|---|---|
| Giftronaut | Smart Orders, Zapier, API, MCP | Digital rewards for recognition, incentives and research across many countries |
| PerkUp | Automation for work anniversaries, birthdays and new hire swag; HRIS, Slack, Amazon Business and SSO integrations | Teams that want branded swag kits shipped from regional warehouses |
| Sendoso | Integrates with marketing, revenue and HRIS tools to trigger sends and track results | Sales and marketing teams that tie gifts to pipeline |
| Giftogram | Zapier, an API and HR and CRM integrations | Teams that want bulk gift cards and payouts from one account |
| Runa (formerly WeGift) | API-first, built to embed in your own product | Businesses building rewards or payouts into their own platform |
Read these as vendor claims and confirm each one in a demo. A country count also says little about depth, because it doesn’t tell you how many local choices a recipient in each country actually sees. We left prices out because vendors don’t all publish them in a form you can compare, so ask each for a quote and run the fee and funding checks above on it.
Giftronaut fits only when the reward is digital: it sends gift cards and prepaid cards and doesn’t ship physical gifts. For a welcome kit or a direct mail campaign, one of the other types will serve you better. And if you’re building payouts into your own product, an API-first platform is the closer match.
What does it cost to fund a global gifting program?
The funding method is the cost you control. On Giftronaut, ACH and wire deposits carry no fee and credit card deposits carry a 3% fee, so the way you pay matters as much as the platform itself.
Take 300 employees across 20 countries, each getting a $50 gift card. That’s $15,000 in rewards. A $15,000 ACH or wire deposit carries no fee. The same deposit by credit card carries a $450 fee. That’s a hypothetical, but it shows why that line is worth a second look on a program this size.
Timing is the other cost. ACH typically takes 2 to 3 business days and wire 1, counted from the day your bank sends the payment, while card deposits are usually almost instant during US business hours. A new account’s first deposit is also held while we verify the business, and most reviews finish within one business day. For a send on a fixed date, start funding early.
Then put the same three questions to every other vendor: what it charges to fund, what it charges per reward, and what a shipment costs in each of your countries. You can see our own answers on the Giftronaut pricing page.
When does Giftronaut fit a global team?
Giftronaut fits global teams that send digital rewards: recognition, incentives, survey and research thank-yous, and holiday gifts. Here’s what that looks like in practice, and where it stops. Our step-by-step guide to rewarding a global team from one platform goes deeper.
- Recipients choose where it counts. With a Choice Card, you don’t need to know where someone lives. They pick their country and currency at redemption, then choose from the local catalog.
- Rewards go out on the right day. Smart Orders send on dates you set, such as work anniversaries, once the order is live. A spreadsheet upload handles large lists.
- It connects to your tools. Zapier, the API and MCP are covered on our integrations page.
- Your brand shows at every step. Brand templates carry your logo and colors, and White Label extends them to the verification and redemption pages.
- You can see what happened. Every order shows delivery status per reward, bounced emails can be resent, and an order history export supports month-end reconciliation.
The limits are real. Gift cards are country-specific and can’t be redeemed in another country. You fund the account in USD before you send, and a fulfilled order can’t be cancelled. Some countries also need enablement before branded gift cards appear at checkout.
For a real example, Top Line Marketing, a marketing consultancy, uses Giftronaut for survey, review and referral incentives for an international user base. Our case study reports $500 saved and 5 admin hours saved each week, and 2.5x client engagement.
What mistakes do global gifting programs make?
Most failures come from a few assumptions: that one card works everywhere, that funding is instant, and that the lowest platform fee means the lowest program cost.
- Assuming a card travels. A card issued for one country stays in that country. If you don’t know where a recipient lives, either collect it first (our post on when to collect recipient country information shows how) or send a Choice Card and let them pick.
- Forgetting lead time. ACH funding takes up to 3 business days, a new account’s first deposit is held for verification, and corporate security filters commonly hold reward emails. Fund early, and ask recipients’ IT teams to allowlist the sender.
- Defaulting to swag. A physical gift feels personal, but it has to clear customs and arrive on time. For recognition on a set date, digital is easier. If you do need physical gifts, our comparison of swag management platforms for global teams is a good place to start.
Pick the gift first, then shortlist two platforms
You wouldn’t buy plug adapters before you knew which countries you were flying to. Do the same here. List the countries your recipients live in, decide whether the gift is a card, a box or a sales touch, and shortlist two platforms of that type. Then run the eight checks on each and ask for the same numbers from both. It takes an afternoon, and it’s far cheaper than switching platforms after the first send.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is there one corporate gifting platform that suits every international team?
No, because the right one depends on what you send. For digital rewards across many countries, a digital gift card platform such as Giftronaut fits, because nothing ships and recipients see their own currency. For physical swag, a swag platform with regional warehouses fits better, and for sales outreach, a platform with CRM triggers and direct mail does.
Can a corporate gifting platform send both digital and physical gifts?
Some can. Swag and sales gifting platforms often combine eGifts with shipped items, but Giftronaut sends digital gift cards and prepaid cards only. If you need both, many teams run a digital platform for recurring recognition and a swag platform for welcome kits and events.
How do gift cards work for recipients in different countries?
Each gift card is issued for one country and currency, and it can’t be redeemed in another country, even when the brand is the same. A Giftronaut Choice Card avoids the guesswork: the recipient selects their country and currency at redemption and chooses from the local catalog. Where a country has no local card, a global option such as the Global Visa Reward Card, which works in 225 countries, covers it.
How much does a corporate gifting platform cost?
Pricing models vary, so compare the funding fee, any per-reward fee, any subscription, and shipping and customs for physical gifts. Giftronaut charges no platform, subscription or per-card fees, ACH and wire funding are free, and credit card deposits carry a 3% fee with a $100 minimum. Payout Options carry a redemption fee of 4% (minimum $0.25 per recipient) when the sender covers it, or 6% (minimum $1) when the recipient covers it.
Which gifting platforms connect to a CRM or HR system?
Giftronaut connects through Zapier, which links to apps such as Salesforce, HubSpot and Slack, through an API with a sandbox, and through MCP. For any other vendor, ask which integrations are built in and which need a third-party tool, because the answer changes how much setup you take on.
Can I control who sends gifts and approve orders?
On Giftronaut, a Super Admin invites users and sets permissions for funding, integrations, placing orders, viewing balances and viewing order history, and can transfer funds between team members. Orders placed through Zapier require approval by default, so a new automation doesn’t spend money until a person signs off.
